American First Credit Union Helps Make La Habra's "Operation Santa" an Overwhelming Success
La Habra, Calif., December 22, 2010 — This holiday season, American First Credit Union joined forces with the city of La Habra and several other community organizations to help bring “Operation Santa” to life.
Operation Santa is a charitable event that provides donations of nonperishable food, toys and monetary contributions to local families in need. As part of its participation in this charitable community effort, American First collected toys and monetary donations from credit union members and their employees in their corporate office in La Habra, CA. Throughout the month of December, members and associates made donations, with four large boxes of toys and approximately $1,000 contributed.
In addition, more than 10 credit union employees and their families worked at the Operation Santa event on Saturday, December 18th at the La Habra Community Center. At the event, families were treated with a day of festive fun including food, toys and carnival-type rides and attractions. Families who were identified by the school district as being in need of food donations, were then given their one week supply of food, including healthy servings of meat, vegetables, eggs and milk.
“American First Credit Union appreciates the opportunity to participate in this year’s Operation Santa event,” said Pam Easley, American First President/CEO. “We thank the City of La Habra, our members, employees and community partners for their contributions in making this such as special day for families in need this holiday season.”
