There are alternatives to Foreclosure, but you must take immediate action!

American First Credit Union wants you to know that if you are unable to afford your scheduled mortgage payments there may be options still available to you to avoid foreclosure. To explore these options you must contact American First Credit Union's Loss Mitigation Department at 800/ 290-1112 and be prepared to provide information as requested, including the completion and return of signed information forms and documents, to enable American First's Loss Mitigation Dept. to assess how best to assist you. This information and the forms and documents necessary will always include:

  • Current information on the status of any mortgage on the same property that is senior in position to the American First Credit Union loan.
  • Current and correct phone numbers where you can be reached and where you will answer or return calls when messages are left for you.
  • Current pay stubs (including unemployment or disability payments) for all persons contributing to the household income.
  • A short statement from you explaining why you feel you cannot make your regularly scheduled payments.
  • A completed American First Credit Union Member Assistance Program information sheet (we will provide this for you)

You may also be requested to provide additional information to assist in our assessment.

You have the right to request a meeting with us within 14 days of our most recent contact with you to assess your financial situation and explore options for you to avoid foreclosure. To set up a meeting please call 800/ 290-1112 Ext. 5027 or 5260.
