Credit Union Marks Beginning of Holiday Season
By Donating to Fire Victims and the Hungry
La Habra, Calif., December 1, 2008—American First Credit Union marked the beginning of the holiday season by reaching out to the community they serve. In an effort to help victims of the November 2008 firestorms, representatives collected and donated approximately 50 bags of clothes for the Village of Hope Warehouse, who gave them to Orange County residents who lost their homes in the fires.
In addition, approximately 450 food items were collected by credit union representatives and donated to the Orange County Food Bank to help feed needy families over the Thanksgiving weekend.
“As active, concerned members of our community, our associates joined together to organize this fundraiser for fire victims and the hungry,” said Bob Street, American First Credit Union President/CEO. “We are fortunate to be able to help make the holidays a little brighter for those who may be facing extraordinary challenges this season.”
