Scam Alert: Fraudsters Impersonating TruStage
We've been made aware of scam calls from individuals claiming to represent TruStage (Liberty Mutual Insurance). Scammers may even spoof local phone numbers to make the call appear legitimate.
To protect yourself:
- Never provide banking or card information to an unexpected caller.
- Don’t click payment links sent by text or email unless you’ve verified the request.
- Be cautious of urgent or high-pressure payment demands.
- If a call seems suspicious, hang up and contact TruStage or AFCU directly using a trusted phone number.

American First Credit Union has been notified that TruStage, a provider of insurance and protection products offered through credit unions, including American First Credit Union, is responding to a cybersecurity incident that has affected portions of its technology environment. TruStage has reported that it proactively shut down parts of its network while it investigates the incident and works to restore services. To assist members, TruStage has established the following resources:
American First Credit Union's core systems, digital banking services, debit cards, credit cards, and member accounts have not been impacted by this incident. The issue is limited to TruStage's systems and services.
At this time, TruStage has not indicated that member personal information was accessed, acquired, or misused as a result of this incident. TruStage's investigation remains ongoing, and additional information will be provided as it becomes available.
We encourage members to remain vigilant and exercise caution when responding to unsolicited phone calls, emails, or text messages requesting personal or financial information. Fraudsters may attempt to take advantage of this situation by impersonating TruStage or other trusted organizations. Members should avoid clicking links or providing sensitive information unless they have independently verified the source.
